We are currently seeking a Construction Field Inspector to assist with the expansion of our Construction group in our Cedar Rapids, IA and Moline, IL locations. This position will be filled as a Project Construction Engineer or as a Field Technician II, depending on the background and qualifications of the selected candidate.This position will: Under general supervision, review project specifications and conduct necessary work required for moderately complex plan preparation, acceptance testing, evaluation of field conditions, design changes, and reports.Direct and prepare specifications and bid documents under the general direction of engineering or project management staff.Conduct materials testing and analysis, and prepare reports detailing tests conducted and results.Survey project sites to obtain and analyze topographical details of sites.Draft detailed dimensional drawings such as those needed for highway plans, structural steel fabrication, and water control projects.Calculate dimensions, profile specifications, and quantities of materials such as steel, concrete, and asphalt.Inspect construction site to determine conformance of site to design specifications.Assist engineers to ensure that projects meet established local, state and federal regulatory requirements.Work cooperatively with other CADD and Design or Field Technicians and/or Engineers to complete assigned work.Proactively seek input and clarification from other employees assigned to given project in order to minimize time spent in performing the essential duties of the position. | ||||
